Customers
Customers exist for mapping purposes - they let partners associate hedges with specific end-users. Each hedge is tied to a customer record, enabling partners to track, reconcile, and report hedging activity on a per-customer basis. This is especially useful for platforms that manage FX on behalf of many underlying customers and need clear traceability from hedge to end-user. Whether a partner uses customers is a partner-level configuration. If it’s disabled, Grain provides a placeholder customer to use in hedge creation.Hedge Statuses
Grain’s lifecycle differs from banking systems by explicitly separating execution, drawdown, and settlement, allowing more flexibility for platform-driven hedging. The API maps each stage to clear status values.- In Process — hedge is being set up, quote accepted but not yet fully active
- Active — hedge awaits settlement or drawdown
- Completed — amounts exchanged successfully
- Overdue — past maturity without settlement
- Cancelled — hedge terminated
